Every once in a while, I’ll come across a piece of content that really resonates with me and inspires me to keep working toward my goals despite feeling lost, unproductive, and hopeless beforehand. Since we can all use a dose of inspiration at times, I’ve decided to share five of my favorite articles and videos that have helped me to get out of a rut in the hopes that they will also inspire you to get back on track.

Video: The Truth About Your Calling

There are a lot of gems in this video: there’s no such thing as “the right time,” we should be focused on meaningful interactions instead of superficial milestones, when it’s okay to quit, failures aren’t fatal, etc. If you need a serious dose of inspiration, then watch this video by Marie Forleo and Seth Godin.

Article: Be Consistent and Small. That’s How You Win at Business.

The Keys to Business Success - inspirational article

If you want big results, then you have to do something big and crazy, right? Wrong. A lot of times, we just need to take small steps consistently to reach our gigantic dreams. This article by Regina Anaejionu is a great reminder of that. Want to lose weight? Start exercising 10 minutes every day. Want to memorize the Qur’an? Start with one ayah or half a page every day.

Video: Gifted with Cancer

If you asked a cancer patient, family members or friends of a cancer patient, or a healthcare professional to describe what it’s like for someone to have cancer, I’m 99.99% sure they would not say anything positive about it (at least not at first). Ali Banat is an exception to this, though.

He described his cancer as a “gift from Allah” because this disease pushed him to turn his life around and live in a way that’s pleasing to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala. How many people would say and do the same?

If you’re currently envious of someone else’s wealth, success, and lifestyle or if you’re constantly trying to keep up with the Joneses, then you should definitely watch this video. It will help you refocus your attention on things that are important and remind you to appreciate the little things in life.

Note: Ali returned to Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala on May 29, 2018.

Article: Today is Not Over Yet

Today is not over yet - inspirational article

Sometimes I don’t wake up or get out of bed until noon. Sometimes I don’t complete most or any of the items on my to-do list before the day ends. Sometimes I don’t feel like doing anything or trying at all. So the day slips by and I’m left feeling unproductive and like a failure at the end of it.

Are you in a similar situation right now? Do you feel like you’ve wasted most of today so there’s no point in trying to achieve any of your tasks or goals? If so, then you need to read this amazing article by Alexandra Franzen. It will inspire you to turn your day around even if it’s 9:30 PM right now.

Video: The Meaning of Life

We were created with a purpose. We were designed with an incredible and incomparable blueprint. We’re alive for a reason bigger than work, money, bills, sex, and fame. Sometimes we forget that and get caught up in insignificant things. This thought-provoking video by Kamal Saleh will remind or teach you the true meaning of life and inspire you to align your life with it.
